Lately, I have loved reading friends' blogs that, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, have been sharing what they are thankful for. So this month, I am going to try and share some of the things that we are thankful for as well!
Thankful #1: Iowa
This past year has been a hard one for us. Not matching to a residency program really threw a wrench into future plans and we didn't really know where to go from there. After a ton of anxiety, prayer, and serious consideration, an internship in Iowa fell into our laps. Lance took the position, and although at it seemed like a less than desirable option, we didn't know how great that decision would turn out to be!
Not only did we move into a great town with cheap living, a great apartment complex, family-friendly neighborhoods, and fabulous ward, but the internship itself is giving Lance an amazing amount of oral surgery private practice experience that he couldn't have gotten anywhere else. It may honestly be well worth an extra year. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple small downsides to Iowa (no Costco, crazy bugs, and humidity), but we just are so thankful we ended up here!

So glad you're loving Iowa! These are incredibly beautiful pictures. Love your outfit in the last one, especially. Wish you guys could come with Lance to visit us! Darn it, anyways.
