Christmas Morning

Twas the night before Christmas...
And Evelyn had the flu...and so did everyone else as they would find out later... :)

We had a great Christmas! We are really trying to save money this year and picked out two things the kids would like, and honestly, grandparents/great-grandparents made the rest of Christmas possible, and gave the kids some of their favorite things + pj's! The best present of all was to have Lance home all day on Christmas. His co-resident offered to take call for him that day since he doesn't have kids, and it was such a lifesaver. He would have been gone all day! Thank you, thank you to everyone who helped us out and made this day wonderful!

Lance's friend at the VA Hospital gave him these zebra finches. The kids named them Clarabelle and Jefferson (as in Thomas Jefferson from our Presidents of the US game, haha)

Evelyn is always the easiest when it comes to what she asks for Christmas:
2010- Playdough
2011- An Etch-a-Sketch
2012- A Pinkalicious Book

Excited with their presents (and food!)
Merry Christmas!

Fireside

It has been cold here in the mornings and I've been letting the kids warm up in front of our little fire when they wake up.

Blake ended up spilling his hot chocolate and I had to document how he moved back on the "nice" list after flooding the bathroom last week.

He cleaned up.

All of it. Christmas Miracles really happen. :)

Gingerbread Houses and Lights

Lance surprised us by bringing home everything to make gingerbread houses the other night, and the kids loved it. I don't know which they loved more, building the houses or eating the candy.

 Obviously it was really intense

We also had to decide what to do with our extra two strands of lights. We tried to make our house look festive, but the lights only ended up covering the base of our ugly tree (it split in half during a monsoon last summer). People were giving us weird looks as they drove by, but they were probably just jealous.

Blake's Video

Something for the Grandmas:
Blake's thoughts on Christmas and life in general...all while eating a cookie.

Kindergarten Holiday Sing

Evelyn was excited all week for us to come to her Holiday Sing. She loved every minute and kept making sure we were watching her the whole time. :)

Addi was excited too. Every time we go to the school she falls more in love with the idea of going there for Kindergarten. I can't believe Evelyn is already half way done with Kindergarten and Addi only has a year and a half until she starts. Time is flying.

Fountain Park

Sunday afternoon walk at Fountain Park. A beautiful place with my favorite people.
