We woke up the kids early on Easter Morning so they could find a couple eggs and look at their baskets before church at 9am (A wonderful Easter Message
here). For Addi, Easter ranks right up there with Halloween and Christmas on the candy scale, which if you know Addi, is a determining factor in how much she enjoys a holiday.
The Easter Bunny brought books in the girls' baskets this year. Lance asked Evie how the Easter Bunny got into our house and after careful thought she concluded he must have thrown the stuff in through the "flunt" (aka a name she made up on the spot for the mail slot on our door).
Later we had dinner and an egg hunt with Joe, Sarah, Wendy, and Eric. There were about 150 eggs and only five kids hunting them, so things got a little crazy. Let me introduce you to three of the participants:
The Candy Finder
Evelyn inevitably became the egg-finder after Eric and Addi moved on to opening eggs and eating. She liked finding and sorting the candy way more than eating it so it was a perfect job for her.
The Candy Eater
No surprise here. Candy is her favorite food, word, activity...you name it. If it involves candy, she's there. She quickly figured out that if she stayed by Evie's basket, the candy would just keep coming.
The EVERYTHING Eater
Yes, Everything. He's lightning fast and has an affinity for easter grass and foil wrappers.
Happy Easter!
