Gilbert Temple Open House

We had the chance to go to the Gilbert Temple open house this weekend, and it really was probably the most beautiful temple I've ever been in! It was the last day of the open house, so even though we had tickets, we ended up waiting in line for 45 minutes before we could get in. It was 88 degrees and the kids were acting like it was the hottest day they had ever experienced...yeah...in about three months we will be begging for 88 degrees! After a short video about temples and their purpose, they let us in. I was so amazed at the huge number of people who were there to see the temple!

It was Lucy's first real all-day outing and she did really well, but she saved her crying for when we got IN the temple. Everything was so beautiful and as we walked through the Celestial Room with our kids we realized we probably won't be in there again with all our kids for at least another 20 years. The girls oohed and aahed over all the beautiful windows and chandeliers, and it was just overall a great day. The temple has no shortage of outside beauty either and I loved all the palm trees, desert flowers, and fountains.
