First Day of School!

It's hard to believe, but this year we have a 2nd Grader and a Kindergartener! Addi could barely sleep the night before school because she was so excited. I'm so glad she has Evelyn to ride the bus with and take her to class, and Evelyn LOVES having Addi with her. These two have honestly been waiting for this day for years! When Addi got off the bus she said, "Kindergarten is so easy-peasy!" So I'm assuming everything went well. We're now on the third week of school and the novelty still hasn't worn off!

 Oh these girls...
It was so cute to see Evelyn holding Addi's hand and helping her every step of the way. I'm so glad they got to go together, and now they are even more excited that Blake starts kindergarten next year and they ALL get to be together. How is this even possible???

Last Day in Washington

On our last day in Washington we squeezed in a little bit of last minute fun by going to Knead and Feed for breakfast with grandma and then playing on the beach and looking for crabs down by the dock with Sarah, Jane, Wendy and Eric. I love when the kids get to see and play with their cousins. We flew out later that afternoon, and luckily our flights were extremely easy. Our longest flight had almost no one on it, so we spread out and had two whole rows to ourselves - Blake, Lucy, and I on one side and Addi and Evelyn on the other. All of us fell asleep, including Lucy, and the kids even stayed asleep as we landed in some crazy monsoon thunderstorms in Arizona! I love when flights work out so well!

Lucky for us, we only have a few weeks between our visits this time...and Lance gets to come with us on our next one!

Huckleberries

On our last full day in Washington we went huckleberry picking...

 Blake's "baseball bat"

Addi and Blake caught a frog, then decided that it was hungry for a huckleberry. That didn't go over so well, but they had fun trying.

Later at the beach, we had a blast throwing rocks into the water, and riding driftwood teeter-totters. Also, Addi is such a fun girl! She absolutely lives life to the fullest and is always finding something to have fun with (or dread) in every situation. We LOVE her sassy personality!

Fishing

Grandpa took the kids fishing down at the docks one evening. They just fished for the tiny bait fish near the boats, but from their reactions, they could have been the biggest fish of all time! All of them - especially Evelyn - have been begging to go fishing for so long so this was perfect...and despite his best efforts Blake didn't fall in. Even more perfect.

Meet "Elizabeth" the fish. Blake named her himself

 Lucy...meet Elizabeth

Time to throw Elizabeth back to her family
