Happy Birthday Lance!

Happy 27th Birthday tomorrow my love!

Evelyn answered some questions about Lance for his birthday:

Why do you love Dad?  Because I just like to go to school with him
What's Dad's favorite food?  Spaghetti and quesadillas and tacos. (ha, those are her favorites...not so much Lance's)
What's Dad's favorite movie? Um...a skeleton movie?
What's Dad's favorite color? Green and yellow and black
What does Dad say to you? Um, he calls me Evie Belle
What does Dad do at school? Fixes teeth and get tooth band-aids on teeth
What does Dad do when he gets home from school? Um I think he likes to cook chicken and then play with me.
What kind of cake does Dad want for his birthday? Probably just black cake with skeleton candles (interesting). Later she said, "Ok, he wants chocolate cake"
What is Dad's favorite book? A princess story to read to me
What does Dad like to do outside? He likes to ride his bike, and I ride my pedal bike
Is Dad handsome?  Yes, a handsome prince.  And he has handsome hair....or handsome arms...or handsome muscles...or handsome prince...or what else? What do you think mom?
Why is he handsome?  Because you just got married and you have a ring, that whys.
How old is Dad turning on his birthday? 24
What does dad clean in our house? TONS of garbage!
What is Dad's favorite store? Costco
What does Dad like to do in the morning? Go to school

How much do you love dad? a LOT

Hiking

We spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day hiking at Muir Woods with Joe and Sarah.  We went on a pretty hike that started after the boardwalk and took us past waterfalls, forest, and meadows.

 Joe, Sarah, Eric, and Wendy
Eric found the mud when we stopped in a meadow about halfway there
Lance "swinging" Evelyn, he helped her out over the big "obstacles"

Imagine our surprise when we got back and calculated how far we had gone: 6 1/2 miles...and Evelyn had walked the whole way!!  Good job, Ev!

5 months

Blake is now 5 months old, and I love how he can just light up the room when he smiles.  He is rolling everywhere and can very slowly but surely scoot himself to toys and other things he wants.  We sometimes call him "Blakey Boy" and Addi calls him "Gwakey," "Blakey," or "Bwitta Boy."

Academy of Sciences and Exploratorium

Our pass at the Academy of Sciences expires next month, so we went a couple weeks ago.  Things are definitely setting in that we're leaving in only four months, and we are trying to fit it all in!

Blake's first time at the Academy of Sciences.  The fish were very interesting.
I wish I knew what Addi was looking at in this picture
 Playing with starfish
 Tasting Starfish
This lizard kept following Ev when she would move, and she thought it was the funniest thing ever.
We were also lucky enough to go to the Exploratorium on free day, and even luckier that Lance's patient canceled last minute and he came with us! It was actually his first time, since we only go on free day while he's at school.  I think he liked it just as much as the kids.
Ok, she's making a weird face, but she was actually having a blast.

And of course our trip wouldn't be complete without Addi trying to wander off somewhere.
