In trying to to get out and explore more "Arizona" things while we live here, we took a drive over to Montezuma National Monument, which has some Native American cliff dwellings from the 1100-1400's.
It was very cool and much higher than it looks from the pictures. You also can't tell how huge it is! This portion alone has 77 rooms! The kids don't look thrilled, but we actually had a really good time.
And of course there were plenty of lizards. We even saw nature in action when one started chasing a huge beetle. It finally gave up when a guy got really close to the beetle with his phone to try and "instagram" it.
Evie really wanted a picture of herself with this sign.
Every once in a while we can get a normal picture of Blake, but most of the time they look like this one:
We heard some music coming from around the bend and the kids thought maybe there was a Native American guy sitting and playing a flute or something...nope just this ranger playing a recorder. It was actually sort of awkward, and what made it more awkward was the guy I accidentally captured in this picture kept telling me I was taking too many pictures of my other kids and wasn't taking enough pictures of my "beautiful daughter" (Addi). Wow, gotta love advice from strangers.
On the way home we stopped by this tent to get some legit Navajo frybread. It was sooo good! We're looking forward to more "Arizona" adventures to come.
