We have one little boy around here who is quite the fan of trains, so when I heard about the train ride through the holiday lights at the train park, I knew it was an activity we needed to pursue. We went twice--the first time was very busy and the train had a wait time of 3 hours!!! So we waited to ride and went back just after New Year's Day. It was perfect. No waiting, plenty of space, and they let us ride the carousel for free!
This train has been ridden by four U.S. Presidents, it was very cool!
The second time we went...no wait at all.
Blake had been asking to go back to the "train party" the entire two weeks between our visits. When we finally got there and got on the train, I think he went into shock. He wouldn't look at or talk to anyone. It wasn't until about 10 minutes after we got off the train that he finally spoke, he said, "That train was awesome!!!"
More of Blake in shock...
They had lit up/decorated the whole 10 minute train ride with tons of random Christmas stuff. The track we rode on is a portion of an original line from the 1800's on the Southwest Line.
Afterwards we got to ride the carousel, which was another huge highlight. The kids still can't stop talking about this place.
